WELCOME TO SULLIVAN QUARTER HORSES!

Communication is information, The best thing you can do with information, is learn. But in order to learn, you must listen

Sullivan Quarter Horses is home to a small and comfortable facility, holding two arenas, a round pen, and large pastures. Lyn Sullivan has 10+ years of equine experience, having competed in many state level competitions testing in equine knowledge as a youth, and being licensed as an equine massage therapist and in kinesiology taping. Here Lyn offers fundamental training for young horses, saddle starting, refined finishing for Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Halter, Horsemanship, Equation, Showmanship, and a Ranch. Lyn also works with troubled horses to teach the connection that can be earned through the art of horsemanship.

Take it one day at a time, because horses don't know the clock, if you think about the time it's taking you'll be there forever

EQUINE BEHAVIOR TRAINING

My Equine Behavior Training work involves an intimate understanding of your animal’s natural and individual history. Your pet has plenty of potential to learn and understand commands, and my techniques will lay the foundation for you to build upon. I combine your needs and wants with the natural attributes of your pet.

GROUND TRAINING

Getting your horse a head start to smooth the road to saddle starting later. Or individual sessions to help with particular issues or to grow confidence in yourself and your horse.

COLT STARTING

After developing their mental abilities to an adequate amount, they will be started under saddle. I work to ensure the horse is desensitized to weight and movement on their back and has the appropriate response to rein pressure and stress during riding. And this type of training has a 60 day minimum.

FOAL TRAINING

Foal training is a very important step in properly starting your horse. During this time your colt will learn to lunge, lead, stand for the farrier, bathing, fly spray, line driving, and getting accustomed to the feel of a saddle (I use a small 25lbs saddle for this or a surcingle with a pony pad).
